Lukas has a special skill of staying calm when others panic - the skill many wish they had, because just his presence gets many people nervous: he has a little black journal where he records all the brilliant / awkward things they say. There is an audiobook to which he listened to 5 times over: Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday. Lukas loves travelling around Europe to deliver his trainings as he enjoys meeting interesting and motivated people - exactly the sort you get among Toastmasters!

Storytelling for Business Professionals

December, 8th

Dry facts, figures without context, or worst of all - generic "corporate speak". Attention killers in any presentation. There's a good chance you used them in the past - I certainly did.

My presentations suffered. But there's one thing that will make any audience pay attention. No matter whether we speak about pre-school children or managers in suits and ties. A good story.

In this workshop, I will take you for a journey. In the beginning, I will show you what listening to a good story does to you - and what you can do with your audience by telling it. In the second part, we will look at a few techniques how you can "mine" stories from your own life and in the lives of others - and how to collect them. Many people say "Oh, I don't have any interesting stories." After this workshop, you will certainly NOT be one of them. In the third part, we will walk through different techniques how to use a story structure to give your presentation a logical flow. And finally, we will look at some ways how to spice your stories for maximum attention grabbing effect, such as using metaphors, twists and other tools.

Going Beyond The Club

December, 9th

Giving a speech in your club, taking on a meeting role, serving as a club officer is fun! But is it all you can get out of Toastmasters? During this workshop we will discuss what are the activities we can do outside of the club for those who want to do and learn more.
